PE Premium

The Department of Education announced this year that they will be investing £150 million pounds into Primary PE and Sport.

  

The school has written an action plan to comply with the Governments criteria for the use of this funding.

The key points for this year are:

To improve the quality of teaching and learning across the subject by;

  • Embedding fundamental movement skills
  • Implementing the assessment and  tracking of progress of PE
  • Ensuring all Year 6 children achieve the curriculum expectations in swimming
  • Employing outside coaches in a specialist role
  • To improve training and support by using a day for PE training through ‘Create Development’
  • Attending CPD sessions through the PAL organisation in Swale
  • Observing outside coaches Regular monitoring of lessons
  • Increase competition for children in school by:
    1. Attending competitions organised by PAL
    2. Play friendly competitions within the UNITAS collaboration
    3. Maintain the silver Schools Games Mark
